expectations

this evening i was up really late with a student talking about how she should break up with her boyfriend cause he is making her miserable... it's kind of a long story... anyway, all that lead to me thinking about expectations. honsetly, high expectations are why we end up shattered at the end of the day.

ALL THAT TO SAY, i think i have high expectations for this blog. therefore, i will let myself down and try to break up with it. don't let me break up with this blog due to shattered expectations. make me come back to it. make me love it. make me post on it.

and, you, reader... let me dissapoint you. i will dissapoint you. i'm not that funny, and i'm only posting this often because it is new and fun.

let's just pretend like we're months into this relationship... expectations have already been destroyed... that way we're all safe.

this picture is in honor of my old corolla, Carol. she was a good car. i had a long talk about corollas today and i got a little bit sentimental. it has nothing to do with expectations. but i couldn't let a blog go by without a picture of some sort.

driving

so, driving has been on the mind lately... after the long road trip i mentioned earlier and with another long road trip coming up this weekend... i have been thinking of ways to make car rides more exciting.

these are some of the things i look forward to in car rides:

crossing state lines. i used to take pictures of welcome signs, then i realized on the trip from state college to baton rouge i go thru the same states every time. so i stopped after the second round trip.

palindromes. it excites me like NONE OTHER when i reach a palindrome on my odometer. the next one i have to look forward to is 94549. GET EXCITED!

starbucks signs on the "food" exit notices. starbucks is in no way food, but it does get me happy. especially when the starbucks has a city mug for purchase. city mugs are my favorite.

that's what i look like when searching for city mugs. except i have red hair.

keep up

i'm going to use this blog to share funny stuff... try to keep up...

to start things off, i just finished an 8 day, 9 state, 1500+ mile road trip. it was great. i stopped in knoxville, nashville, huntsville, auburn, columbus and atlanta... watch out! count it, 3 SEC towns! all that to say, my iPod kept me company most of the drive, and there is one song i will never skip... i can be running, shuffleing on a road trip or driving thru town. it's a classic. i know every stalkerish creepy word. for your viewing/listening pleasure:

don't judge me too harshly just cause i'm willing to share one of my guilty pleasures.
