long-time no blog

there are two things that are quite necessary for a good blog: an orginal (is there anything truly original?) thought AND IMMEDIATE internet access.

so, to fill you in on the last month or so: GREAT ideas... NO internet access.

most of my creative juices flow while driving and/or while i am alone in my nifty downtown apartment. both of those locales have no internet access.

my internet time is usually at highland coffees (where i'm at right now). and despite amazing people watching and interesting characters, it is very rare that i have the stroke of blog genius necessary to produce something worthwhile.

alas. drinking coffee. watching characters. mabe doing some homework.

in other news, i need a job. would you like to hire me?

bad math

yesterday i heard an advertisement for holiday "gift." it was basically a lame excuse for guys who forgot to buy their "significant other" something for Christmas. you could get 15 holiday tulips (still don't know what holiday tulips are) with a vase for $29.99... and for just $10 more you can get 30% more tulips and a candy cane striped vase! do the math...

i come up with 4.5 more tulips.

still not sure how that works.

CCM

this is what most people think of "Christian" music...

but, for your consideration... i give you, http://www.myspace.com/welcometothewelcomewagon.

listen to their music. enjoy it. jump on the welcome wagon, woah pun! they were featured in this month's Paste magazine. They are a PCA pastor and wife, produced by sufjan stevens. and their music is appealing to both believer and non-believer cause it's actually... shocker... GOOD! unlike what most people think of contemporary christian music.

living the dream

today was the end of a 2.5 year relationship... actually, if you include when things first started, more like 7.5

my working relationship with RUF is done. for those of you who don't know, RUF is the company i've been working for for a while now, and i was involved in RUF while i was in college.

i have been living under the poverty line working for RUF. and RUF is the reason i was transplanted to central PA. lots of things about RUF are NOT glamorous; and, jokingly, my co-workers and i referred to the internship with RUF as "living the dream."

honestly, though, it was a dream. for 2.5 years i have had the priveledge of serving a college campus and involving myself in the lives of women at penn state. i had everything i needed, was pastored and cared for, and grew into being a more Godly woman than i had been.

it's sad to leave, but i know that the relationships are not done... they will just look different than before.

sorry this was so serious... just watch that youtube again for a laugh and pump your hands in the air a little bit

what did i tell you?

i told you last week that i would dissapoint you and myself... and i have already.

it's been about 4 days since i last blogged. forgive me. i have been packing, saying goodbye, crying and driving. and a LOT of all of those things!

this past road trip was quite entertaining. there was an ice storm involved. exciting, you might think, but no. it stopped being exciting when i got stuck in west virginia.

before i offend anyone, love the west virginian hate west virginia... that's my motto.

i sat in a west virginia mcdonalds for about an hour while i waited for the roads to be safe again. john denver didn't know what he was talking about. dont' take me home, country road. get me outta there!

as a friend of mine noted, "when you said, 'i'm in kentucky, thank goodness i'm out of west virginia.' i knew there was something wrong."

it's not even a pretty shape. it's awkward. the roads are bad. gas is more expensive.

now i'm in texas. safe. warm. happy.

working out

so, if you don't already know, i'm moving back to baton rouge... woohoo! and i'm already slightly employed (even better)!

i'm going to work for my friend john's personal training business. http://artisanfitness.com/ that's the website. check it out. go to a boot camp. he says he won't make you cry. i don't believe him.

if you want a workout that, in fact, will not make you cry... or work you out, for that matter:
